Tucker Sadler Architects and HNTB were retained to design the expansion of the city’s Convention Center. Totaling 1,527,248 SF, this design-build project includes nine exhibit halls totaling 540,929 SF, 20,000 SF outdoor exhibition areas, three ballrooms totaling 40,100 SF, and 158,158 SF meeting rooms.

This project is a concept design/feasibility study for a pedestrian bridge over Harbor Drive near the San Diego Convention Center. The bridge will span over the existing Santa Fe Railroad, Trolley, and Coaster tracks at 6th Avenue.

 

CityHallConventionSOLANA BEACH CITY HALL CONVERSION
Solana Beach, California

This project was a creative adaptation of “Diego’s Night Club” into a new 14,350 SF City Hall for the city of Solana Beach. The structure houses administrative offices, City Council offices, conference rooms, and the City Council Chambers.

 

NewMailLibrarySAN DIEGO NEW MAIN LIBRARY

Tucker Sadler Architects in collaboration with SMWM and Rob Quigley, AIA, were retained for the design of the New Main Library. The 300,000 SF dome design will encompass a reading room and special event center and provide shade to the rooftop terrace. The Library will be located within the East Village Ballpark District and adjacent to the main intersection of the newly designed Park to Bay link. Once complete, the New Main Library will become a proud and recognizable landmark in the City’s emerging skyline.

 

MuseumOfArtTHE SAN DIEGO MUSEUM OF ART

The city’s oldest and most prestigious art museum selected Tucker Sadler for a series of remodeling projects to their historic building. New lighting and meticulous surface cleaning by professional art conservators have brought the museum’s entry rotunda back to life, showcasing one of San Diego’s premier historic rooms. The museum’s gift store was entirely replaced with a new design and new cabinetry, built from natural finish maple. A new gallery on the second floor and the expansion and remodel of the museum executive offices was also completed.
